Vegetables take center stage at José Andrés’ new fast casual concept. Beefsteak isn’t vegetarian, though its food proudly celebrates the unsung power of vegetables, deliciously matched with hearty grains, freshly-made sauces, crisp greens, and flavorful toppings. And while we’re certainly no steakhouse either, if you want to add a bit of something meaty to top off your bowl, we offer some delicious choices. To fuel busy lifestyles and feed the growing desire to eat well, the affordable and innovative concept executes good food, fast. This is Vegetables Unleashed.

About
The result of a couple guys who love good food and cold drinks, Duke’s Grocery is a neighborhood pub and supper spot located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The idea is simple: create a fun spot that our friends (you!) can come in anytime and have a fulfilling meal, a tasty drink and great time in an atmosphere that is unpretentious and laid back. Tuck in, drink up and enjoy! A nod to the ubiquitous corner cafés, bodegas and curry joints of the East London neighborhoods of Shoreditch and Hoxton, our culinary inspiration is as diverse as these brilliantly working class parts of the English capital. East London’s funky juxtaposition of classic greasy spoons, hole-in-the-wall ethnic spots and ultra-sleek avant-garde restaurants has created a food scene that is truly unique. We regularly update our chalkboard menu depending on what is seasonally available and fresh. From our sandwiches, curries and house made pastas to cocktails, craft beers and unique varietals, we work hard to keep the menus exciting while offering our guests a top-notch experience. All dishes are scratch made in small batches in our cozy, open kitchen. We source from local purveyors including Potomac Farm Market and Lyon Bakery with an emphasis on sustainable ingredients. We take great care in preparing your meals to maintain high standards of both value and quality; all to ensure you are fully satisfied but not walking out of here broke. We look forward to seeing you soon. Cheers!

Our Maki hand rolls are inspired by the aesthetics and practicality of Japanese maki-zushi and temaki rolls. They are beautifully presented and incorporate simply prepared fresh ingredients, unique and deliberate combinations of flavors. But that’s not the best part. Rolls are individually packaged to ensure each nori wrapper is kept separate and crisp until the moment they’re ready to be eaten. Goodbye, soggy seaweed. This is how a sushi roll should taste.

Pitango Gelato is bucking the industry trend. We are control freaks who like to safeguard our product all the way from the cow to the consumer. We planted ourselves right next to the milk parlor of Pennsylvania’s Spring Wood Organic Farm so we can get our milk straight from its single herd of grass-fed cows. The same goes for the free-range eggs used in select gelato flavors on the same day they are laid. Our products contain exceptional ingredients – from organic chocolate to premium Italian nuts to fresh-picked organic fruit. And we use no artificial colorings, flavorings, extracts or chemicals of any kind.

ROCKLANDS Barbeque and Grilling Company has been serving wood-only barbeque to loyal DC-area fans since 1990. Where are the four ROCKLANDS locations? Follow the aroma to Glover Park, Arlington, Alexandria and Rockville – and if you need catering they do that too, delivery or full service. John Snedden, who founded ROCKLANDS 25 years ago this year, started off barbequing whole pigs for college parties. While those slow-smoked whole pigs are still a foundation of ROCKLANDS’ catering, the company also caters office lunches to fancy weddings (38 of ‘em in 2014). Last year’s largest event? A party for 3,900. John says the DC market has changed: “There are a lot more barbeque fans now. It amazes me how many new faces we see in our shops each week. And they’re all coming for the same thing: A true, wood-only barbeque experience.” Chopped pork sandwiches, barbequed brisket and grilled salmon are customer favorites. ROCKLANDS’ food trucks can be seen out and about at events in DC, Maryland and Virginia, and are available for private events as well. The company has received positive reviews in everything from Gourmet to Newsweek, and its fans have consistently voted ROCKLANDS “best barbeque” in annual City Paper and Washingtonian competitions.
